Welcome to Crevoe. By accessing and using our platform, you agree to be bound by the following Terms and Conditions ("Terms"). Please read them carefully before using any services offered by Crevoe. If you do not agree to these Terms, you must not access or use the platform.
1. Introduction
Crevoe is a digital platform designed for creators and entrepreneurs through content creation, community engagement, and marketplace tools. These Terms govern your use of all features and services provided by Crevoe and are subject to the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, as well as applicable international data protection laws.
2. Eligibility & Age Restrictions
2.1 Minimum Age Requirement
To access or use Crevoe, you must be at least 13 years old. By creating an account or using any part of the platform, you represent and warrant that:
- You are 13 years of age or older;
- If you are under the age of 18, you have obtained parental or legal guardian consent to use the platform;
- You have the legal capacity and authority to enter into and be bound by these Terms and Conditions;
Your use of Crevoe is in full compliance with all applicable local, national, and international laws, rules, and regulations.
2.2 Restrictions for Certain Jurisdictions
If you are located in a country or region where access to digital marketplaces, content monetization, or AI tools is prohibited or restricted, you may not use the platform. It is your sole responsibility to ensure that your access and use of Crevoe is lawful in your jurisdiction.
2.3 Corporate or Institutional Users
If you are registering or using the platform on behalf of a company, organization, school, or other legal entity, you represent and warrant that:
- You are duly authorized to act on its behalf;
- That entity accepts and agrees to these Terms;
You will be responsible for ensuring all users under that account comply with these Terms.
2.4 Account Suspension for Ineligibility
Crevoe reserves the right to suspend or terminate any account if we discover or reasonably suspect that:
- The user is under 13 years of age;
- Parental or guardian consent is not verifiable (for minors);
- The user has misrepresented eligibility information or violated jurisdictional restrictions.
3. Content Ownership & Licensing
3.1 User-Generated Content
You retain full ownership of all content you post, including text, images, videos, and AI-generated material ("User Content").
3.2 License Grant
By submitting content to the platform, you grant Crevoe a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free, sublicensable license to use, reproduce, modify, adapt, publish, and distribute your content solely for platform operation, marketing, and promotional purposes.
3.3 Third-Party Use
Crevoe shall not be held liable for the unauthorized use, distribution, or reproduction of your content by third parties. You are encouraged to take appropriate protective measures, including watermarking or legal registration of your content where necessary.
4. AI Content Guidelines & Restrictions
Users may utilize Crevoe's AI-powered tools and upload AI-generated content, subject to the following conditions:
4.1 Prohibited AI Content
Users shall not upload or disseminate content that:
- Misrepresents individuals (e.g., deepfakes);
- Spreads false information or deceptive narratives;
- Infringes upon intellectual property or privacy rights.
4.2 User Responsibility
You are solely responsible for ensuring that any AI-generated content complies with applicable laws and Crevoe's internal policies. Violations may result in content removal or account suspension.
5. Content Moderation & Community Conduct
Crevoe strives to provide a respectful and inclusive environment. We reserve the right to moderate content and user behavior through automated tools, manual review, and community reporting.
5.1 Prohibited Conduct includes:
- Hate speech, discrimination, or targeted harassment;
- False credentials, plagiarism, or impersonation;
- Promotion or depiction of violence, explicit content, or illegal activities;
- Spamming, phishing, or deceptive practices.
5.2 Three-Strike Policy
- First Offense: Warning and content removal;
- Second Offense: Temporary account suspension;
- Third Offense: Permanent account ban.
Crevoe reserves the right to bypass this policy and enforce immediate action in extreme cases.
6. Marketplace Terms
6.1 Payments
All marketplace transactions are processed through secure third-party payment providers. Users agree to comply with the terms of these providers.
6.2 Commission Fees
Crevoe applies a commission fee to all transactions. The applicable rates are detailed in the Marketplace Terms, which are incorporated herein by reference.
6.3 Seller Obligations
Sellers are required to:
- Provide Accurate and Complete Information: Ensure that all product and service listings are truthful, complete, and not misleading in any way. Descriptions must include all material facts, specifications, usage instructions (where applicable), pricing, and any associated terms or limitations.
- Ensure Ongoing Accuracy: Promptly update listings to reflect any changes in availability, features, pricing, or other relevant information.
- Maintain Full Legal Compliance: Guarantee that all products and services offered on the platform comply with all applicable local, national, and international laws, regulations, and industry standards, including but not limited to those relating to consumer protection, intellectual property, health and safety, advertising, and e-commerce.
- Hold All Necessary Rights and Licenses: Warrant that they hold all rights, licenses, approvals, or consents required to offer, sell, and distribute their goods and services, and that such offerings do not infringe upon the rights of any third party.
- Assume Full Liability: Acknowledge that they bear full legal and financial responsibility for any non- compliance, misrepresentation, or third-party claims arising from their listings, and agree to indemnify and hold harmless the platform from any resulting damages, claims, or losses.
7. Dispute Resolution & Refund Policy
7.1 Refund Policy
Crevoe operates a strict no-refund policy for all digital products, unless expressly stated otherwise at the time of purchase. Due to the nature of digital content, all sales are considered final once the product has been delivered or made available for download or access. Buyers are strongly advised to review all product details, previews, and seller terms before completing a purchase.
Exceptions to this policy may be considered under the following limited circumstances:
- The digital product was not delivered or is inaccessible due to a technical issue not caused by the buyer;
- The product received is materially different from the description provided at the time of purchase;
- The purchase was the result of fraudulent activity that can be independently verified.
To request an exception, users must submit a refund request within 7 calendar days of purchase by contacting Crevoe Support with relevant proof and documentation. Crevoe will review the request at its sole discretion and is under no obligation to approve it.
7.2 Dispute Resolution
Buyers and sellers are primarily responsible for communicating and resolving issues related to transactions in a fair, prompt, and transparent manner. In the event of a disagreement:
- Parties must attempt to resolve the matter directly within 14 business days of the dispute arising;
- If a resolution cannot be reached, either party may escalate the dispute to Crevoe by submitting a formal complaint via our designated dispute resolution channel.
Upon escalation, Crevoe may, at its sole discretion:
- Review relevant communications, transaction records, and content;
- Request additional documentation from both parties;
- Provide a non-binding recommendation or take administrative actions including temporary account suspension or content removal.
Crevoe's intervention is not a guarantee of resolution. By using the platform, all users acknowledge that Crevoe is not a party to the transaction and shall not be liable for any loss, damage, or claim arising from a dispute, including the failure to resolve one.
Crevoe reserves the right to refuse to handle disputes it deems to be frivolous, abusive, outside its remit, or lacking sufficient evidence.
8. Legal & Compliance
8.1 Jurisdiction
Crevoe is a digital platform operated under the laws and jurisdiction of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. By accessing or using Crevoe, you agree that all matters relating to your use of the platform—including but not limited to its services, content, and transactions—shall be governed by and construed in accordance with Nigerian law, without regard to conflict of law principles.
In the event of a legal dispute, you agree to submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Lagos State, Nigeria, unless otherwise required by applicable law.
8.2 Regulatory Compliance
Crevoe is committed to full compliance with applicable national and international laws, particularly in the areas of data protection, cybersecurity, consumer rights, and financial integrity. This includes adherence to:
- Nigeria Data Protection Act (NDPA)
- Cybercrimes (Prohibition, Prevention, etc.) Act, 2015
- General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) – European Union
- California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) – United States
Crevoe shall not be held liable for any breach of law or regulation committed by a user in their respective jurisdiction. It is the user&spos;s responsibility to consult legal counsel if unsure about the legality of using Crevoe in their location.
Crevoe reserves the right to:
- Restrict access to users in jurisdictions where legal or regulatory compliance is uncertain or problematic;
- Suspend or terminate accounts in breach of any applicable law;
- Cooperate fully with law enforcement and regulatory authorities upon lawful request.
9. User Accountability and Indemnity
9.1 User Responsibility
All users of Crevoe, including buyers, sellers, creators, and developers, are solely and fully responsible for any content they upload, share, promote, or generate through the platform, whether manually created or AI-generated.
This includes but is not limited to:
- Text, images, audio, and video content;
- Applications created using third-party tools or integrations;
- Product listings, metadata, and communications with other users.
Users are legally accountable for ensuring that all content:
- Does not infringe on any third-party intellectual property, copyright, trademark, or moral rights;
- Complies with all applicable local, national, and international laws;
- Does not promote or result in harm, defamation, harassment, fraud, hate speech, misrepresentation, or discrimination;
- Respects all data privacy, consumer protection, and commercial transaction standards.
Crevoe does not pre-screen or moderate all content and assumes no liability for user behavior or uploaded materials. Users must exercise diligence and good judgment in their activities on the platform.
9.2 Liability Disclaimer
Crevoe expressly disclaims all liability arising from:
- User-generated content or goods/services sold or exchanged on the platform;
- AI-generated content or tools operated via or integrated with the platform;
- Any indirect, special, incidental, or consequential damages resulting from the use or misuse of such content;
- Legal claims or regulatory orders initiated against users based on their use of Crevoe.
The platform operates as an intermediary and facilitator of content exchange and does not act as a publisher, co-creator, or agent of any user's work or merchandise.
9.3 Indemnification
By accessing and using Crevoe, you agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Crevoe, its parent company, affiliates, officers, directors, employees, partners, and service providers from and against any and all:
- Claims;
- Liabilities;
- Damages;
- Judgments;
- Losses;
- Costs; and
- Legal fees (including attorneys' fees)
arising out of or related to:
- Your content or use of the platform;
- Any violation of these Terms and Conditions;
- Infringement of third-party rights;
- Misuse of AI tools;
- Breach of law or regulation;
- Or any fraudulent, harmful, or negligent acts.
Crevoe reserves the right to assume exclusive control and defense of any matter otherwise subject to indemnification by you, in which case you agree to fully cooperate.
10. Advertising & Sponsored Content
10.1 Platform Policy
Crevoe permits the display of paid promotions, advertisements, sponsored posts, and brand collaborations on the platform subject to strict compliance with these Terms and in accordance with applicable laws in relevant jurisdictions.
All advertisements must be:
- Truthful, not misleading or deceptive in any way;
- Clearly marked as "Sponsored" , "Ad," or "Promoted " to distinguish them from organic content;
- Relevant to the audience and consistent with the tone and values of the platform.
Crevoe reserves the right to review, reject, suspend, or remove any advertisement or promotional content that violates these policies at any time.
10.2 Restricted Industries
Crevoe strictly prohibits advertisements and sponsored content from or relating to the following industries:
- Gambling and betting services, including but not limited to sports betting, online casinos, and lottery schemes;
- Cryptocurrencies and digital assets that are not registered or regulated by appropriate financial authorities in applicable jurisdictions;
- Unregistered, pyramid schemes, or any form of unregulated financial investment schemes;
- Political campaigns, partisan content, lobbying efforts, or propaganda of any kind;
- Products or services that may exploit or endanger vulnerable individuals;
- Tobacco products, vaping, or illicit substances, including recreational drugs.
This list is non-exhaustive and may be updated at Crevoe's discretion to align with evolving legal, social, and ethical standards.
10.3 Advertiser Responsibility
All advertisers and sponsors must:
- Ensure their content complies with all local, national, and international advertising and consumer protection laws, regulations, and standards, including:
- Nigeria's Advertising Regulatory Council guidelines;
- U.S. Federal Trade Commission (FTC) guidelines;
- European Union's Unfair Commercial Practices Directive;
- Provide accurate disclosures regarding sponsorships, endorsements, or paid partnerships;
- Avoid targeting or misleading vulnerable consumer groups.
Advertisers shall be solely responsible for any legal claims, regulatory fines, or reputational damages incurred from non-compliance.
10.4 Indemnification by Advertisers
By submitting advertising or sponsored content to Crevoe, you agree to indemnify and hold Crevoe harmless from any and all liabilities, damages, claims, or losses arising from:
- Your advertisement or sponsorship content;
- Any regulatory violations or consumer complaints;
- Any third-party intellectual property infringement or false claims.
Crevoe reserves the right to report violative advertisements to relevant authorities and suspend associated user accounts to ensure platform integrity.
11. Termination & Suspension
11.1 User-Initiated Deactivation
Users may deactivate or delete their accounts at any time by following the account settings procedure within the platform. Upon deactivation:
- Access to your profile, content, and services will be suspended immediately;
- Certain residual data may be retained to comply with legal, financial, or operational obligations (e.g., transaction history, tax records, or fraud monitoring);
- You remain responsible for any outstanding contractual obligations, liabilities, or outstanding payments owed to Crevoe or other users.
11.2 Crevoe-Initiated Suspension or Termination
Crevoe reserves the unconditional right to suspend, restrict, or permanently terminate any user account, content, or service access at its sole discretion and without prior notice, especially under the following circumstances:
- Violation of these Terms and Conditions or any linked policies (e.g., Privacy Policy, Content Policy, Marketplace Guidelines);
- Engagement in fraudulent, illegal, deceptive, or harmful conduct;
- Posting or distributing inappropriate, prohibited, or misleading content;
- Suspected security breaches, account compromises, or unauthorized access to your account;
- Repeated complaints, reports, or unresolved disputes involving the user;
- Use of the platform to abuse AI tools, cause others, or infringe on intellectual property;
- Attempts to bypass platform rules, security measures, or payment systems.
11.3 Consequences of Suspension or Termination
In the event of account suspension or termination by Crevoe:
- Access to your account, content, funds, and associated features may be immediately revoked;
- Any pending transactions or payments may be withheld or forfeited, subject to investigation and resolution;
- Crevoe may notify affected parties (e.g., collaborators, customers) and cooperate with law enforcement or regulators if necessary;
- Users may be permanently banned from re-registering on the platform under the same or different identities.
11.4 Appeal Process
Users who believe their account was suspended or terminated in error may submit a written appeal to Crevoe within fourteen (14) calendar days of receiving notice. Appeals must include:
- A detailed explanation and any supporting documentation.
Acknowledgment of the applicable rules and corrective actions, if relevant.
Crevoe will review the appeal at its discretion and communicate the final decision. All decisions made by Crevoe are final.
12. Changes to These Terms
12.1 Right to Amend
Crevoe reserves the right, at its sole discretion, to modify, amend, or update these Terms and Conditions at any time to reflect changes in:
- Applicable laws and regulations;
- Platform features or services;
- Security or operational requirements;
- Business practices or user feedback.
Such changes may include, but are not limited to, updates to user obligations, content guidelines, payment procedures, and dispute resolution mechanisms.
12.2 Notification of Changes
In the event of material changes, Crevoe will make reasonable efforts to notify users through:
- Email communications sent to the registered email address;
- Prominent in-platform notices, banners, or alerts.
Minor or administrative updates may be posted directly within the terms and are deemed effective upon publication.
12.3 Acceptance of Revised Terms
Your continued access to or use of the platform following the effective date of the revised Terms constitutes your acknowledgment and binding acceptance of the updated provisions.
If you do not agree to the revised Terms, you must discontinue use of the platform immediately and may terminate your account.
12.4 Version Control
The latest version of the Terms and Conditions will always be accessible on the Crevoe website or app. We encourage users to review the Terms periodically to remain informed about their rights and obligations.
